History Of 'Arulmigu Sri Vaitheeswaran Alayam'

A brief history of Arulmigu Sri Vaitheeswaran Alayam. This temple was set-up by the residents surrouding Jalan Air Hijau in 1978. The temple was started from 'Soolam"set up under the 'Arasa' tree by the families of Veera Perumal & Palanisamy. They started the worship of Siva Peruman under the 'Arasa' tree which exists till today.
In the year 1982, a young devotee,now known as 'Siva Sri Tharmalingam Gurukal came to visit a friend in Air Panas after he had a dream of an existence of a temple there. He found the 'Arasa' tree and built a small temple around the tree and started performing daily poojas. Devotees around Air Panas started attending the religious functions as the temple grew in popularity.
In the year 1983, Siva Sri Tharmalingam intiated the 1st Thirukalyanam festival during the month of Chitra Pournami with the help of the devotees. Since then, the temple has gone through many changes & face lifts through the donations poured in by the devotees. Despite having many temples established in this country, Arulmigu Sri Vaitheeswaran Alayam has its own speciality. Devotees attending the poojas have experienced many miracles through their worship Siva Peruman & Ambal. Miracles in the form of healing sickeness,diseases & spritual enlightenment has brought in devotees from all over Malaysia.

The temple continues to offer many pooja's for the devotees like Kanivillaku, Guru Raghavendra and Anjenayar pooja's on a weekly basis. In addition to that, the speacial pooja's being carried out includes Pournami, Ammavasai, Mahashivarathiri, Navarathiri, Vinayagar Chathurti, Anjenayar Jayanthi, Raghavendra Guru Pooja, Mathuraiveeran Poojas's and the most important of all is the "Annual Thirukalyanam Festival".

The temple which is registered under the Persatuan Kebudayaan Arulmiguntha Vaitheeswaran would like to thank all the residents in Air Panas & all devotees from all around Malaysia who have been supporting the growth of the temple through the years.
